East Campus is known to Appalachian Students as East Side. This section of campus is located East of Rivers Street, the road that serves as the boundary between East and West Campus. East Campus houses most of the academic buildings on Appalachian State's campus, as well as Roess Dining Hall, Belk Library, multiple dorms, and the Plemmons Student Union. At the heart of East Campus lies Sanford Mall, a hubb of activity throughout the academic year.
